Your iPhone or iPod touch can be recognized as a camera so that you can import images to your computer. In some cases, the iPhone may not be recognized as a camera. The steps below may resolve the issue.

If your carrier has unlocked your iPhone, after connecting your iPhone to iTunes, you should see this message:
"Unlock Complete. Congratulations, your iPhone has been unlocked. To set up and sync this iPhone, click Continue."
This article explains what to do if you do not see the above message, or if iTunes displays this message:
"The SIM card inserted in this iPhone does not appear to be supported. Only compatible SIM cards from a supported carrier may be used to activate iPhone. Please insert the SIM card that came with your iPhone or visit a supported carrier store."

This article explains how to view or edit the Access Point Name (APN) for services on iPhone. This information applies only if your carrier allows editing the APN.

One or more of the following may occur:

Mail app unexpectedly quits when trying to access mail
or
iPhone or iPod touch displays "Home" screen when trying to access mail
or
Mail account on the iPhone or iPod touch shows blank account title/description in Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars screen as shown here:

After upgrading to iPhone OS 3.0, you may be unable to use some Cellular Data Network services, such as:

Cellular Data connection for Internet services
Visual Voicemail
MMS (Multimedia Messaging Service)
Internet tethering

You may also see this error message: "Could not activate cellular data network: You are not subscribed to a cellular data service". This can happen if you edited the Cellular Data Network settings—the APN (Access Point Name) details—either manually or with the iPhone Configuration Utility prior to installing iPhone OS 3.0.
Note: This issue does not affect phone services (making and receiving calls or sending and receiving SMS messages).
